US Airways Express / Shuttle America Announces New Flights from Bedford/Hanscom to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, MA.

Bedford, MA---Shuttle America, the US Airways Express carrier operating from Hanscom Airfield (BED) in Bedford, Massachusetts, today announced plans to inaugurate the first ever nonstop flights between Hanscom and Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. The new flights will begin on May 24, 2000, in time for the busy Summer travel and vacation season. The flights will operate Friday-Sunday.

“Customers have been asking us for this service since day one at Hanscom,” said Mark Cestari, vice president at Shuttle America, “and we also know that many of the residents around Hanscom Airfield are frequent travelers to the Islands.”

Shuttle America currently offers service from Hanscom to New York’s LaGuardia Airport(LGA), Trenton/Princeton (TTN), New Jersey and to US Airways hub at Philadelphia Int’l (PHL) and will also begin new flights to White Plains, NY (HPN), in suburban Westchester County, NY on March 18.

Flights will be operated with 33-seat Saab-340 turboprop aircraft, and feature three-across seating, cabin class in-flight service and complimentary beverage service. Additionally, customers will enjoy easy check-in, free parking and can also elect to earn frequent traveler rewards as part of US Airways Dividend Miles Program.”
