Letter: Massport leaders absent at meeting

The MEPA meeting at Bedford Town Offices last Thursday, Nov. 7 not only demonstrated the four towns' overwhelming opposition to Hanscom expansion, but also demonstrated Massport's disregard for the welfare of these towns.

The only Massport staff in attendance were public relations and project management employees. Where are Massport's policy makers?

The MEPA hearing and the ESPR will determine the future of Hanscom Field and these towns, and this process should not be overseen by the same old PR people. Mr. Coy, as CEO of Massport, you should have been there. Mr. Quelch, as a resident of Lincoln and Director of Massport's board, you should have been there. Now that the meeting has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Nov. 19, you have another chance to witness the groundswell and to participate in the determination of the future of America's Birthplace.
