Democracy not seen at Massport

To the editor:

I find it interesting that Massport is complaining about lack of "
democratic process " at the recent HFAC meeting, which was disrupted by
citizens expressing their frustration with Massport's plans to bring many
commercial airlines to Hanscom Field.

Massport has never had democratic process with any of the towns. Massport
has meetings and ignores everything that the people ask for. The people who
will be directly affected by their actions have no say, no vote, and no
representation.

On the other hand, on Tuesday night, the people spoke and affected the
meeting -- this is democratic process. Democratic process is noisy, messy,
and slow, but the people determine the outcome, not a remote, small group of
all-powerful "directors."
